Arébénor Basséne’s work is part of the collective exhibition ‘MUTATIONS’ at Montresso* Art Foundation in Marrakech. The works on display were created during the 5th edition of IN-Discipline, Montresso’s residency program. The current edition was focused on the Senegalese art scene.

MUTATIONS is a fascinating exercise in adaptation to maintain balance in a dynamic perspective that draws from the positive core values of each community and fertilizes the ongoing quest for a shared humanity. The artists proposed for IN-Discipline 2024, with the diversity of their expression, backgrounds, and experiences, each carry within themselves a proven capacity for adaptation, inspiring diverse encounters, and an affirmed artistic personality to varying degrees. The maturity and sense of responsibility they demonstrate daily are precious assets to individually and collectively convey awareness of the challenges the world faces on one hand and the content of the discourse to be delivered in coherence with decentralized thought for the preservation of diversity.
