Residency - Maison Julien Gracq

Alioune Diouf is invited by Le MAT - Centre d'art contemporain du Pays d'Ancenis for a residency at Maison Julien Gracques in June 2024, a part of its partnership program.

A Senegalese artist of Serer origin, a painter and sculptor, Alioune Diouf uses a wide variety of materials - he creates his own pigments, sews his canvases and makes sculptures from natural environmental elements. His pictorial universe is characterised by the interweaving of characters, animals, cosmic and floral motifs, as well as by spiritual and sacred symbolism.
