Artist Studio Program

May - June 2023

Our first open call !

Apply for a 6-weeks residency at Selebe Yoon during the month of May-June 2023.

Our residency program is open to international artists, however, artists from the continent, the diaspora, or those that have a specific interest with Senegal and the region are highly encouraged to apply. For this open call, we are inviting two residents at the same time for this residency. Therefore, collaborative or research projects between an artist and a curator can also be proposed.

Selebe Yoon is located in the city centre of Dakar in a building from the 1950s. It houses studio spaces, accommodations for artist, a communal table for working and a library.

What’s expected during the residency

We ask the artist to host studio visits throughout their residency and organize a presentation of their research in the form of a conversation, visual presentation, video projection, performance towards the end of the residency. The format of the presentation can be discussed during the residency.

The two selected participants will be notified on February 1st, 2023.
