GALLERY ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

Mbaye Diop

Production Residency

10.10.2022 - 16.12.2022

Originally from Senegal, Mbaye Diop works and lives in Switzerland, after graduating from Head-Geneva. From video, performance, drawing to installation, his work explores the paradigm shifts at play in African societies, especially the dichotomy between traditions, urban infrastructures and new technologies. The singularity of his work lies in his exclusive and almost obsessive use of black and white, allowing him to neutralise the scenes represented, from market views to iconic architectural buildings left in decay.

During his residency Mbaye Diop will produce new animated films in preparing for his first solo exhibition with Selebe Yoon.
